Dalyce Curry, the renowned actress famous for her performances in Blues Brothers, Lady Sings the Blues, and The 10 Commandments, has passed away at the age of 95.
Her body was found following the destruction of her Altadena home in a wildfire, as reported by TMZ. The tragic event unfolded as the Eaton Fire swept through regions east of Los Angeles, devastating neighborhoods and prompting evacuations in Altadena and Pasadena.
Curry’s granddaughter confirmed the loss in an emotional post on Facebook, recounting her last visit with her grandmother on Tuesday, January 7. She had dropped Curry off at her Altadena home that day, unaware that hours later, the fire would ignite and engulf the area.
The next day, when Curry’s granddaughter returned to check on her, she was unable to access the property due to police barricades. An officer informed her that the house had been destroyed and directed her to a shelter where evacuees were being housed.
Despite efforts to locate Curry, authorities confirmed on Sunday, January 12, that the beloved actress had tragically perished in the fire. Her death is part of a devastating toll, with at least 24 fatalities reported as a result of the Los Angeles wildfires.
