Ahmed Ibrahim, on his first day as the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, set a decisive vision for the Ministry, emphasizing unity, professionalism, and a commitment to driving national transformation.
Addressing the Ministry’s staff, Mr. Ibrahim stressed the need for teamwork and urged everyone to uphold their dedication to public service while avoiding undue political interference in their duties.
He highlighted the importance of collaboration in achieving the Ministry’s goals, adding that public institutions must operate independently to serve the people effectively, rather than being influenced by partisan agendas.
“I encourage all of us to work together toward our shared mission of transforming the nation,” the Minister said.
Ahmed Ibrahim also called on civil servants to prioritize professionalism and rise above political divisions, emphasizing that their loyalty should remain with the country and its development.
As part of his agenda to improve efficiency, the Minister instructed the Head of the Local Government Service to conduct a comprehensive headcount of staff across the 261 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs).
He explained that this initiative would help optimize resource allocation and ensure personnel are strategically deployed to better serve the public.
With his focus on collaboration, professionalism, and efficiency, Ahmed Ibrahim made it clear that his leadership would prioritize service delivery and institutional integrity.
