Music duo DopeNation has finally responded to comments made by Kuami Eugene four years ago, following his recent departure from the Lynx Entertainment record label.

Kuami Eugene’s remarks came when DopeNation exited the label in 2019. At the time, the singer expressed relief over their departure, stating in an interview with Joy News, “I’m glad that now, what we shared among four boys will now be shared among two boys. They can take the exit.”

Though DopeNation remained silent back then, the twin artistes have now broken their silence, taking to social media to cheekily remind Kuami Eugene of his words.

In their post, they wished him luck in dealing with what fans have dubbed the “Lynx Curse”—a belief that artists often struggle to sustain their careers after leaving the label.

“Let’s see how you carry the so-called ‘Lynx Curse’ now. What was meant for four people is now for one person. We wish you well,” DopeNation tweeted, tagging Kuami Eugene.

The subtle jab has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with fans recalling the history between the artistes. Kuami Eugene, however, has yet to publicly respond to the remarks.

A Twitter post shared by parody account Positive Albert Nat Hyde included Kuami Eugene’s previous statement, reigniting the conversation: “A letter to an old friend. Kuami Eugene in an interview after DopeNation’s exit from Lynx Entertainment said this. He has also parted ways with Lynx Entertainment, and DopeNation are reminding him of his statement 😂.”

The back-and-forth has reignited debates about Lynx Entertainment and its alumni, with fans keen to see how Kuami Eugene navigates his career post-Lynx.
