A delegation from the United Nations, led by UN Resident Coordinator in Ghana, Charles Abani, visited former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia at his residence in Accra on Tuesday.

During the courtesy call, Abani conveyed a special message of commendation from the UN, acknowledging Dr. Bawumia’s significant contributions to Ghana’s development.
The former Vice President was lauded for his efforts in driving Ghana’s economic transformation through digitalisation, as well as his statesmanship in conceding early in the 2024 elections—a move that earned global recognition.

Dr. Bawumia, in response, expressed his appreciation for the UN’s recognition and assured the delegation of his continued dedication to promoting Ghana’s national interests.
