Parliament has given its approval to three more ministerial nominees put forward by President John Dramani Mahama.
The nominees include Ketu South MP Abla Dzifa Gomashie, who will serve as Minister for Tourism, Arts, and Culture; George Opare-Addo, appointed as Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment; and Shama MP Emelia Arthur, who will head the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture.
The approvals, granted on Thursday, January 23, came after thorough vetting and extensive debate in Parliament.
Abla Dzifa Gomashie, a passionate advocate for arts and culture, is tasked with revitalizing the sector by promoting Ghana’s cultural heritage and increasing revenue generation.
As the National Youth Organiser for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Opare-Addo plans to address critical challenges facing young Ghanaians, such as unemployment, access to education, and youth empowerment initiatives.
Emelia Arthur, leveraging her background in rural development and fisheries, will focus on enhancing sustainability and boosting productivity in the fisheries and aquaculture sector.
In related news, President Mahama on Wednesday swore in six other ministers who had earlier received parliamentary approval.
