Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has celebrated the election of three distinguished Ghanaians—Jane Gasu Aheto, Kwami Edem Senanu, and Amma A. Twum-Amoah—to key positions within the African Union Commission.
The elections were held during the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union (AU) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
In a congratulatory message, Mr. Ablakwa expressed pride in their achievement, emphasizing that their success brings honor to Ghana.
Madam Jane Gasu Aheto has been appointed to the African Union Commission on International Law (AUCIL), while Kwami Edem Senanu secured re-election to the African Union Advisory Board Against Corruption (AUABC). Meanwhile, Amma Twum-Amoah claimed a decisive victory as Commissioner.
Elated by the outcome, Mr. Ablakwa described it as a historic 100 percent victory for Ghana in Addis Ababa, noting that no other country has accomplished such a feat in this election cycle.
He extended appreciation to Ghana’s campaign team, the country’s mission in Addis Ababa, the Foreign Ministry, and President John Mahama for their collective efforts in securing this triumph.
“The Black Star rises again! For God and Country,” he declared.
