The Ghana AI Summit & Awards 2026 has officially opened in Accra, bringing together more than 250 innovators, policymakers, business leaders, researchers, and technology experts from Ghana and abroad to discuss the growing impact of artificial intelligence on national development.
The two-day event, organised by Knowledge Innovations in partnership with Deloitte Ghana, is taking place from July 29 to 30 at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons in Accra.
The summit aims to explore how artificial intelligence can accelerate economic growth, improve productivity, and strengthen AI adoption across industries while equipping the next generation of Ghanaian AI startups with practical skills through workshops and mentorship sessions.
Chair of the Ghana AI Summit, Dr. Kwami Ahiabenu, described the event as a major milestone in Ghana’s digital transformation journey.
“AI is transforming every aspect of society, and we are proud to contribute to Ghana’s AI journey through this landmark event. The Ghana AI Summit & Awards is a catalyst for national development and should strengthen Ghana’s emerging AI ecosystem while celebrating the remarkable achievements of individuals and organisations driving innovation,” he said.
The summit features keynote addresses, panel discussions, networking sessions, and hands-on workshops led by prominent AI experts, including Dr. Gillian Hammah, Professor Isaac Wiafe, and Meta’s Vice President of Public Policy for Africa, the Middle East and Turkey.
Discussions are expected to focus on the application of AI across critical sectors such as government, finance, healthcare, education, agriculture, manufacturing, media, and the creative economy.
The second day of the event will feature the Ghana AI Challenge, where emerging innovators will present AI-powered solutions to real-world problems, as well as the Ghana AI Awards, which will honour outstanding individuals, startups, organisations, and institutions making significant contributions to artificial intelligence, innovation, and digital transformation in Ghana.
Organisers say the summit is designed to strengthen Ghana’s emerging AI ecosystem, encourage collaboration among stakeholders, and position the country as a leading hub for artificial intelligence innovation in Africa.
