A teacher at Nyinahin Catholic Senior High School in the Ashanti Region has been arrested following the circulation of a viral video that allegedly shows him physically assaulting a female student on the school campus.
The development was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Daniel Fenyi, in a Facebook post on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. According to him, the teacher seen in the video has been taken into police custody while investigations into the incident continue.
The shocking video, which has generated widespread public outrage on social media, appears to show the teacher repeatedly confronting and striking the student during an altercation.
