Former National Organizer of the NPP and Member of Parliament for Akuapim North, Samuel Awuku, has urged the party’s flagbearer, Mahamudu Bawumia, to remain focused and resilient despite what he describes as attempts to derail his presidential ambitions.

In a Facebook post, Sammi Awuku encouraged Dr. Bawumia not to be discouraged by the challenges ahead, noting that great political journeys are often marked by obstacles and uncertainty.

“The same spirit that carried J.A. Kufuor and Nana Akufo-Addo through seasons of trial is not absent from this path,” he wrote.

According to him, Dr. Bawumia has consistently demonstrated strength and determination under pressure and should remain committed to the task of rebuilding support ahead of the 2028 general election.

Sammi Awuku stated that many people have observed recent developments within the political space and believe the main target of certain actions is Dr. Bawumia. However, he insisted that the former Vice President should remain calm and focused on the bigger picture.

He further argued that the NPP stands a stronger chance of returning to power in 2028 with Dr. Bawumia leading the party.

The Akuapim North MP also criticised the government led by John Dramani Mahama, claiming that several promises made during the 2024 election campaign have not been fulfilled.

According to him, issues such as unemployment remain major concerns, while some flagship policies have failed to meet public expectations.

Sammi Awuku concluded by calling for unity within the NPP, stressing that internal divisions could weaken the party’s chances in the next election.

He urged party members to close ranks and support Dr. Bawumia, insisting that unity remains the key to the NPP’s quest to regain power in 2028.
