
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted a teacher at Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a student.
The decision comes after a video allegedly showing inappropriate conduct between the teacher and a student surfaced on social media and quickly attracted public attention.
In a statement issued on June 16, 2026, GES said it had become aware of the disturbing video and had immediately launched investigations into the matter.

“Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has become aware of a disturbing video of an alleged sexual misconduct circulating on social media involving a teacher and a student of Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region,” the statement said.
According to GES, the teacher has been interdicted pending the outcome of the investigations in line with the Service’s rules and regulations.
“Management has initiated investigations into the matter. Pending the outcome of the investigations, Management directs that the teacher is interdicted in accordance with GES rules and regulations,” the statement added.
The Service stressed that it does not tolerate any form of inappropriate relationship between teachers and students and described such conduct as a serious violation of professional ethics.
GES further reminded all staff members to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and conduct at all times.
“Management strongly condemns all forms of amorous relationships between teachers and students. The Service reiterates its zero-tolerance towards sexual misconduct and cautions all staff to uphold the highest standards of professional ethics and conduct at all times,” the statement noted.
The Service also assured parents, students and the general public that it remains committed to protecting the safety and well-being of learners across the country.
GES stated that any individual found guilty after investigations are completed will face the appropriate disciplinary and legal action.
