The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana’s Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Kofi Baah Agyepong, has announced his resignation, effective January 24, 2025.
In a formal letter addressed to President John Dramani Mahama, Agyepong explained that his decision was driven by personal commitments and future aspirations.
“It has been an honour and a privilege to serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency over the past two years,” he stated. “I am formally tendering my resignation, effective January 24, 2025, to focus on personal commitments and aspirations.”
Agyepong expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the President for the opportunity to serve and wished him “continued wisdom and strength” in leading the nation. He also conveyed confidence in the YEA’s ability to continue delivering on its mandate.
During his two-year tenure, Agyepong led key initiatives aimed at addressing youth unemployment in Ghana. His leadership focused on equipping young people with vocational skills and fostering entrepreneurial development, significantly contributing to the agency’s objectives.
In his resignation letter, Agyepong assured that he would ensure a seamless transition and pledged to remain available to assist with any pressing matters requiring his input.
The outgoing CEO leaves behind a legacy of innovative programs and strengthened efforts to empower the nation’s youth.
