Chelsea forward Joao Felix has sealed a loan move to AC Milan, where he will play until the end of the season.
The Italian club has agreed to pay a £5 million loan fee for the 25-year-old Portugal international, though the deal does not include an obligation to buy him permanently in the summer.
While the announcement was made on Tuesday, all necessary paperwork was finalized before Monday’s transfer deadline for both Serie A and the Premier League.
Felix, who joined Chelsea permanently for £45 million in August after a previous loan spell in 2022-23, signed a seven-year contract with the club. However, he has struggled for regular game time in the Premier League this season, making just three starts but impressing in cup competitions with seven goals.
The Portuguese forward began his professional career at Benfica before making a high-profile £113 million transfer to Atletico Madrid in 2019, which was the fifth-most expensive deal in football history at the time.
Last season, he played on loan at Barcelona before returning to Chelsea in the summer.
Milan, currently eighth in Serie A, are set to face Roma in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals on Wednesday and have an upcoming two-legged Champions League play-off against Feyenoord.
