Kendrick Lamar’s performance at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show has officially become the most-watched halftime show of all time, according to announcements from Roc Nation, Apple Music, and the NFL on Tuesday (Feb. 11).

“We’ve done it again! The most-watched Apple Music Halftime Show EVER, with 133.5 million viewers,” the organizations shared on Instagram. Lamar’s halftime show performance exceeded even the viewership of the Big Game itself, which Fox Sports reported had an average of 126 million viewers.

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in the game broadcasted on Sunday (Feb. 9).

Lamar, who made history as the first solo rapper to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show, surpassed Michael Jackson’s iconic 1993 performance, which garnered 133.4 million viewers. His show also outperformed last year’s halftime headliner, Usher, who had 123.4 million viewers.

During his record-breaking performance, the Pulitzer Prize-winning artist brought out an array of star-studded guests, including Samuel L. Jackson, SZA, Serena Williams, and Mustard. Lamar mostly performed hits from his 2024 Billboard 200-topping album GNX, such as “Squabble Up,” “Peekaboo,” “Luther” (with SZA), and his No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, “TV Off.”

He also delivered a powerful moment by performing his Grammy-winning anthem “Not Like Us,” adding a touch of drama to his ongoing rap rivalry with Drake, who once referenced the Super Bowl in his track “First Person Shooter.”

Looking ahead, Lamar and SZA will continue their dominance on the world stage with their Grand National Tour, starting in April. The duo will also take their show to the U.K. and Europe in July, making waves beyond New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome.
