Woman Arrested for Biting Customer’s Testicles Over Unpaid Debt
Esi Affumwaa, a 43-year-old woman, has been arrested by police in Assin Wurakese Camp, located in the Assin Foso Municipality of the Central Region, for allegedly biting a customer’s testicles during a violent altercation.
The incident, which happened around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, left 36-year-old farmer Osman hospitalized with severe injuries. According to reports by Graphic Online, the dispute began when Osman purchased a cigarette for GH₵1.20 from Affumwaa’s drinking spot, initially paying GH₵1 and promising to settle the remaining 20 pesewas later.
The next day, he returned to buy another cigarette and handed Affumwaa GH₵5, expecting his previous debt to be deducted. However, when he attempted to make another purchase, she confronted him, insisting he clear the unpaid 20 pesewas.
What started as a verbal disagreement quickly turned violent. Osman claimed Affumwaa struck him on the head with a stick, causing him to fall to the ground. She, along with her children, then allegedly assaulted him before biting his testicles, leaving him bleeding profusely.
Bystanders rushed to Osman’s aid and took him to the hospital, where he was treated and later discharged. The Assin Fosu District Police Commander, ASP Jacob Kumedzro, confirmed the arrest and stated that investigations are ongoing.
The shocking incident has sparked concerns in the community over escalating disputes and the need to prevent such violent confrontations in the future.
