Kumchacha kneels to beg Mahama for a ministerial appointment

Prophet Kumchacha Appeals to President Mahama for ministerial Appointment

Renowned Ghanaian pastor, Prophet Kumchacha, has publicly called on President John Dramani Mahama to consider him for a government appointment, citing his unwavering dedication and contributions to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Speaking on UTV’s United Showbiz on Saturday, March 1, 2025, Prophet Kumchacha passionately argued that no pastor in Ghana had worked as tirelessly as he had, particularly in supporting the NDC. His request comes in the wake of recent high-profile appointments, including fashion designer Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD) as Presidential Adviser on Diaspora Affairs, actor James Gardiner as Deputy Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA), and actress Kafui Danku as Executive Secretary—all of whom were appointed in February 2025.

Prophet Kumchacha made a heartfelt plea, even kneeling on live television, urging President Mahama to recognize his contributions. He expressed his desire to be appointed as the head of clergy affairs in Ghana, emphasizing that he had risked his reputation and devoted years to defending the NDC.

“President Mahama should do his best and give me an appointment. I want to lead the clergy in this country,” he declared.

In addition to his appeal for a personal role, Prophet Kumchacha proposed that the government establish a regulatory body specifically for pastors. He asserted that, under his leadership, such an institution would help curb fraudulent activities within the religious sector and protect churchgoers from exploitation.

His public request has sparked conversations about the intersection of religion and politics in Ghana, with many awaiting a response from the presidency.
