Ken Ofori-Atta Sues National Security Operatives Over Alleged Illegal Raid on His Property
Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has taken legal action against two senior National Security operatives for allegedly trespassing on his private residence without authorization.
The lawsuit, filed at the High Court, names DSP Bismark Boakye Ansah and Chief Inspector Mensah as defendants. Ofori-Atta argues that their actions violated his right to privacy and that the raid was conducted without a court warrant.
Unauthorized Search While Ofori-Atta Was Abroad
According to the suit, the former minister was out of the country for medical treatment at the time of the alleged incident. His domestic staff reported that a team of 12 operatives, including the two accused officers, nine armed military personnel, and several plainclothes agents, entered the property without prior notice or consent.
The operatives reportedly conducted a warrantless search of the entire residence, going through bedrooms, the kitchen, closets, and other private areas.
Legal Battle Over Privacy Violations
Ofori-Atta insists that the operation was an unlawful invasion of privacy and a breach of fundamental human rights. His legal team is demanding accountability from the National Security agency and seeking legal redress for the alleged violation.
This case has sparked public debate, raising concerns about due process, abuse of power, and the protection of citizens’ rights in Ghana.
