President John Dramani Mahama has instructed all ministers in his government to declare their assets as part of efforts to combat corruption and promote accountability in public service.

Addressing the first batch of six ministers sworn in at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, January 22, President Mahama emphasized the importance of integrity in governance.

“I urge all of you to initiate the process of declaring your assets without delay,” he stated. He further noted that the Chief of Staff would soon announce a deadline by which all appointed officials must submit their asset declarations to the Auditor-General’s Office.

The President underscored that this directive is a proactive measure to deter corrupt practices and ensure public trust in the government.

“There will be no room for ‘business as usual’ in this administration,” he cautioned. “Fairness, transparency, and accountability must guide your actions and decisions at all times.”

President Mahama also assured Ghanaians that his administration would strengthen anti-corruption institutions to effectively investigate and address any misconduct involving government officials.

He reaffirmed his dedication to working closely with the newly appointed ministers, pledging his support as they strive to deliver efficient and transparent governance to meet the needs of the people.
