The youth wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Nkwanta North constituency of the Oti Region has called on President John Dramani Mahama to appoint their Member of Parliament (MP), John Oti Bless, to a ministerial position.
The group recalled President Mahama’s 2024 campaign promise to prioritize the appointment of competent and dedicated leaders who have demonstrated a commitment to their communities. They believe Oti Bless fits this description, citing his wealth of experience and contributions to national development.
Highlighting his impressive track record, the youth noted that Oti Bless had previously served as Deputy Minister of Local Government, Chairman of the Sanitation Unit, and Ranking Member of the Roads and Highways Committee, in addition to holding key roles in the 8th Parliament.
Speaking to Adom News, Baba Abubakar Alhassan, the NDC Zongo Caucus Coordinator for Nkwanta North, expressed the group’s support for Oti Bless and emphasized his dedication to the constituency.
“Our MP has consistently championed the needs of the Nkwanta North constituency. It is only fitting that his hard work is recognized at the national level as the new government is formed,” Alhassan stated.
He added that appointing Oti Bless to a ministerial position would not only acknowledge his commitment but also bring greater development to the Nkwanta North constituency.
David Naliber, the constituency’s communication officer, echoed these sentiments, expressing confidence in Oti Bless’s qualifications. He described the MP as a passionate and experienced public servant who would excel in a ministerial role.
The youth wing remains hopeful that their appeal will be considered as President Mahama assembles his team to steer the nation forward.
