The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has extended his warm congratulations to the newly elected executives of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) following their successful elections held on Thursday, January 23, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

John Ansah, previously GHALCA’s Vice Chairman, was elected Chairman, securing 96 out of 132 votes to defeat his opponent, Isaac Wilberforce Koomson, who garnered 35 votes. In a historic outcome, Phylis Marku Moncar became the first woman to hold the position of Vice Chairperson, adding a landmark achievement to the elections.

In a statement, Kurt Okraku commended the new leadership team for earning the trust of their peers and expressed confidence in their ability to lead the association:

“It is with great humility that I congratulate Mr. John Ansah on his election as Chairman of GHALCA for the next four years. I also extend my heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Phylis Marku Moncar, the first female Vice Chairperson, and the other elected members of the Executive Council for this historic achievement.”

Okraku highlighted the significance of their roles, urging them to embrace their responsibilities with dedication and vision:
