Cristiano Ronaldo’s hotel in Morocco catches fire

Cristiano Ronaldo’s luxury hotel in Marrakesh, Morocco, faced a scare on April 5 when a fire broke out inside the building. The hotel, part of the Pestana CR7 brand co-owned by the football legend, experienced what was later confirmed to be a minor incident—but one that sparked immediate concern.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and quickly brought the fire under control, preventing it from spreading and avoiding any casualties. Guests and staff were safely evacuated thanks to the swift response from both the hotel’s internal team and first responders.

Local reports, including coverage by Morocco World News, described the blaze as a “small fire,” noting that the situation was resolved efficiently. Authorities have since declared the hotel safe, and it has resumed normal operations.

Opened in 2019, the CR7 Marrakesh hotel features 168 rooms, high-end amenities like a spa, gym, fine dining restaurants, and a rooftop pool. It’s part of a growing global chain with other branches in Lisbon, Madeira, Madrid, and New York.

As the hotel incident unfolded, Ronaldo continued to make headlines on the pitch. The Portuguese forward netted a brace in Al Nassr’s dramatic victory over rivals Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League—bringing his career goal tally to an astonishing 931.

Despite edging closer to the fabled 1,000-goal milestone, Ronaldo downplayed the achievement post-match. He insisted that while breaking records is satisfying, his focus remains on enjoying the game and helping his team win, rather than chasing personal numbers.
