Atletico Madrid kicks off the weekend when they host Mallorca at the Metropolitano Stadium on Saturday evening. Los Rojiblancos are intent on dethroning their city rivals, with manager Diego Simeone praising his team’s determination and collective effort. “The players have done a great job, and they know how to handle challenges. They understand there will be difficulties along the way,” said the Argentine coach.

Real Madrid will respond immediately as they face Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium. While integrating Kylian Mbappe into their squad remains a challenge, coach Carlo Ancelotti is focusing on broader issues. “Individual talent has sometimes overshadowed team balance,” he acknowledged. “Improving team work and defensive solidity will be key to our success moving forward.”

Barcelona, who began the season with strong momentum, are looking to regain their peak form. On Sunday afternoon, they will host Alaves, aiming for three points to continue their good run following their Supercopa triumph earlier this month. “We stick together, and every game is a chance to learn,” said manager Hansi Flick. “Big clubs aim for titles, and that’s our focus.”

The weekend’s La Liga action also includes a Friday-night clash between Leganes and Rayo Vallecano. Valencia, fighting to avoid relegation, will face Celta Vigo on Sunday, while Real Betis will go up against Athletic Bilbao in what promises to be a thrilling encounter. The round wraps up with a Monday-night showdown between Girona and Las Palmas at the Montilivi Municipal Stadium.
