Luka Dončić described his first game for the Los Angeles Lakers as a “special moment” after helping his new team secure a commanding 132-113 victory over the Utah Jazz.

The five-time NBA All-Star, who recently joined the Lakers in a blockbuster trade that saw Anthony Davis move to the Dallas Mavericks, made his debut after recovering from a calf injury.

Dončić quickly made an impact, draining an early three-pointer to loud cheers from the home crowd. In his 24 minutes on the floor, he recorded 14 points, five rebounds, and four assists.

The 25-year-old Slovenian briefly exited the game in the first quarter for treatment on his left calf but returned to action before being subbed out late in the third quarter with the Lakers comfortably ahead, 93-69.

“I heard a lot of noise when I was introduced – it was a special moment,” Dončić said postgame.

“The way the fans received me was incredible. I was a little nervous before tip-off, but once I stepped on the court, it was just fun to be out there again.”

LeBron and Dončić Lead Lakers to Victory

LeBron James played a key role in the win, forming an impressive partnership with Dončić. The Lakers star led all scorers with 24 points, adding eight assists and seven rebounds.

The victory moves the Lakers up to fourth place in the Western Conference standings, while the struggling Jazz sit in 14th, just one spot from the bottom.

In other NBA action, Nikola Jokić put on a dominant display for the Denver Nuggets, scoring 40 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds in a 146-117 rout of the Portland Trail Blazers.

Meanwhile, despite a stunning 44-point effort from Anthony Edwards, the Minnesota Timberwolves fell 128-107 to Eastern Conference leaders Cleveland Cavaliers.

Stephen Curry delivered a season-best performance, dropping 38 points—including six three-pointers—as he led the Golden State Warriors to a 125-111 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. Newly acquired Jimmy Butler, playing just his second game for the Warriors after being traded from the Miami Heat, added 20 points in the win.
