The Madina Divisional Police Command has launched an investigation into a shooting incident involving former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Adwoa Safo, at Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region.
According to a statement issued by the Ghana Police Service, preliminary investigations suggest the incident occurred while the former legislator was visiting her late father’s residence in Kwabenya.
Police confirmed that Adwoa Safo sustained a gunshot injury to her left ear and later reported the incident to the Kwabenya Police Station.
The former MP also presented a vehicle with registration number GN 3482-24, which reportedly had visible gunshot damage. The vehicle has since become a key piece of evidence in the ongoing investigation.
Authorities disclosed that Adwoa Safo has been issued a Police Medical Report Form and is currently receiving medical treatment.
As part of efforts to establish exactly what happened, investigators have retained the damaged vehicle for forensic examination. The analysis is expected to help determine the source of the gunfire and reconstruct the events leading to the shooting.
Police say investigations are ongoing to identify all persons connected to the incident and establish the full facts of the case.
