The University of Gold Coast (UGC) has appointed Joseph Osei-Owusu, the former First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, to its prestigious University Council.
UGC, initially founded as Accra Business School and granted a Presidential Charter on June 20, 2024, is a prominent Christian institution committed to shaping leaders who embody Christ-centered values and address global challenges through innovation and positive change.
Osei-Owusu, who previously represented Bekwai in Parliament, brings with him a wealth of experience in public service, governance, and law, alongside a strong commitment to ethical leadership and democracy.
Having made a significant impact during his time as First Deputy Speaker, his extensive knowledge and experience are well-aligned with UGCβs mission to empower students and transform lives through education.
His appointment will be formally recognized at the inauguration of the University Council on February 27, 2025, at UGCβs campus in Accra. This occasion marks a significant step in the universityβs ongoing pursuit of academic excellence and its global influence.
