The clash between the Rossoneri and Nerazzurri will take place at the iconic San Siro on Sunday evening, with Milan aiming for a hat-trick of wins over their rivals this season. Stefano Pioli’s men triumphed 2-1 in their previous league encounter back in September 2024, and followed it up with a 3-2 victory in the Super Cup final earlier this month.

Milan star Rafael Leao has been vocal about the influence of new coach Sergio Conceicao: “The biggest change has been in our mentality—always wanting to be in the opposition’s half, pushing the other team back. We haven’t had much time to work together, but he’s already imparted his ideas, and the players are eager to take them on board.”

Immediately following the Milan derby, attention will shift to the ‘Derby del Sole’ at the Olimpico Stadium, where Roma will take on Napoli. The Giallorossi, under the management of veteran Claudio Ranieri, are aiming to revive their season, while Napoli, led by Antonio Conte, will be chasing a crucial three points in their bid for the Scudetto.

Ranieri expressed his pride in his team’s resilience, saying, “This team never gives up, and I like that. When my players give everything, I’m happy.” He also highlighted Artem Dovbyk’s potential importance in the clash. “It’s true that Artem doesn’t take many shots, but we need to improve the service we provide him. We’re gradually involving him more, and we’re doing it with motivation and determination.”

Matchday 23 kicks off on Friday night with a crucial relegation battle between Parma and Lecce. On Saturday, Atalanta will aim for a home victory over Torino in Bergamo, while Juventus and Fiorentina will each have home games against Empoli and Genoa, respectively, on Sunday. The round wraps up on Monday with Lazio visiting struggling Cagliari at the Unipol Domus Stadium.
