Police in Sawla, Savannah Region, have arrested 25-year-old Peter Chipurotey for allegedly murdering his teenage nephew at Kporiju.
According to local residents who spoke to Adom News, Peter reportedly sneaked into the victim’s room while he was asleep and struck him on the head with a stick, killing him instantly.
Friends of the deceased, who saw the suspect hurriedly leaving the room, later discovered the lifeless body and immediately alerted the Kalba Police Post. This led to Peter’s swift arrest.
During police interrogations, he confessed to the crime, stating that he acted because his nephew did not show him respect.
The deceased’s body has since been handed over to the family for burial in line with Islamic customs.
