Nana Pooley, a devoted Kotoko supporter, tragically lost his life after being fatally stabbed during the club’s Matchday 19 clash against Nsoatreman FC at Nana Kronmansah Park—a game overshadowed by violent scenes.
In remembrance of his unwavering support for the club, a vigil was held at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, drawing participation from Kotoko’s management, players, and passionate fans.
His tragic death has ignited nationwide outrage, leading to the suspension of the league and urgent calls for reforms in discussions between clubs and the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Meanwhile, six individuals, including Nsoatreman FC owner and former Sunyani West MP, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
