Stage Performance is something artistes need to take seriously – Mr. Drew
Popular Ghanaian artiste Mr. Drew has advised up-and-coming musicians to prioritize their stage performance skills to stay relevant in the industry.
Speaking in an interview with MX24 TV, the Case hitmaker noted that many artistes struggle to engage audiences despite having great songs.
“I think it’s something most people need to learn, especially upcoming artistes. A lot of them don’t know how to perform, and it’s a problem. They might have very good songs, but when you watch them perform, it’s like…,” he remarked.
Reflecting on his own career, Mr. Drew credited his longevity and success to his dynamic stage performance, which keeps fans engaged and entertained.
“That’s what keeps you up there—performances. I think that’s what has kept me relevant. Our songs had the same impact, but today, things are different. For me, it’s God first, and then my stage performance because people know if you book Mr. Drew, he will entertain your crowd,” he explained.
Encouraging young artistes, Mr. Drew stressed that strong stage performance can set musicians apart in the competitive industry.
“Performance is something artistes need to take seriously,” he concluded.
