Asamoah Gyan Urges Pastors to Keep Church Services Short and Engaging
Legendary Ghanaian footballer Asamoah Gyan has called on pastors to limit the duration of church services, stressing that shorter services would encourage more people to attend.
Long Church Services Discourage Worshippers
In a recent Instagram Live session, the former Black Stars captain emphasized that excessively long church services often make congregants reluctant to attend.
“Church services should be short but impactful. If a service can be completed within an hour and thirty minutes, it will be more engaging and encourage attendance,” Gyan stated.
According to him, prolonged sermons and extended worship sessions can make services tedious, ultimately reducing participation.
“When church services are too long, they become boring. Even as I’m talking for a while now, it’s starting to feel long,” he added with a touch of humor.
A Plea to Pastors for Concise and Impactful Worship
Gyan urged church leaders to prioritize quality over duration, ensuring that services remain meaningful while allowing people to attend to other responsibilities.
His comments have sparked discussions among Ghanaians, with many agreeing that shorter, well-structured services could lead to higher church attendance.
Will Churches Adapt to This Suggestion?
With more people seeking efficient and engaging worship experiences, Gyan’s remarks bring to light the need for churches to strike a balance between spiritual fulfillment and time-conscious services.
