Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo was instrumental in AFC Bournemouth’s impressive 2-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park, securing their place in the FA Cup fifth round.
Everton captain James Tarkowski had a game to forget, as his defensive errors proved costly for the Toffees. He conceded a penalty in the 22nd minute, which Semenyo confidently converted to put Bournemouth ahead.
The Cherries doubled their lead before halftime when Daniel Jebbison pounced on a misplaced pass from Tarkowski, slotting home their second goal.
Despite expectations for an action-packed second half, neither side managed to add to the scoreline, allowing Bournemouth to seal a comfortable win and progress in the competition.
Semenyo’s brilliant display earned him the Man of the Match award, further cementing his reputation as a key player for his club this season.
The Ghanaian striker has now amassed nine goals and four assists in 26 appearances across all competitions, with the FA Cup proving particularly rewarding for him—he has scored twice and provided an assist in just two matches so far.
