Crystal Palace secured an impressive away win over West Ham in the Premier League, thanks to a brace from Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Mateta opened the scoring with a clinical finish, calmly slotting the ball into the bottom corner past Lukasz Fabianski after latching onto a perfectly weighted through ball from Eberechi Eze.

Late in the match, Mateta set up Eddie Nketiah, who was brought down in the box by the West Ham goalkeeper. Mateta stepped up to take the resulting penalty, and though Fabianski got a touch, the ball trickled over the line to seal the victory for Palace.

West Ham’s task was made even harder in the 80th minute when they were reduced to 10 men. Konstantinos Mavropanos was sent off after picking up a second yellow card for grappling with Mateta and catching him with a high boot.

The victory lifts Crystal Palace to 12th place in the Premier League standings, while West Ham drop to 14th, just one point behind.
