Former heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury has announced his retirement from the sport once again, sharing the news in a video posted on social media on Monday.
This marks yet another retirement declaration from Fury, who previously stepped away from boxing in April 2022 following his victory over Dillian Whyte, only to return to the ring later that year in December.
In the brief video message, Fury said, “I’ll keep this short and sweet: I’d like to announce my retirement from boxing. It’s been an incredible journey, I’ve loved every single moment of it. I’ll leave you with this – Dick Turpin wore a mask. God bless everyone, and see you on the other side.”

This isn’t the first time Fury has walked away from the sport. He previously announced retirements in both 2013 and 2017 via social media, though he eventually returned to competition each time.
Fury’s decision comes just weeks after his second consecutive defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in December, a loss that dashed his hopes of reclaiming his heavyweight world titles.
Boxing fans had been eagerly anticipating a long-rumored showdown between Fury and Anthony Joshua, with both fighters approaching the twilight of their careers. However, this latest announcement casts doubt on whether the much-anticipated bout will ever materialize.
