On Monday, February 10, 2025, the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) Committee presented its final report on suspected corruption cases to President John Mahama at the Jubilee House.
The committee was tasked with investigating allegations of corruption and verifying claims of misappropriated state resources.
During the presentation, ORAL Chairman Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa highlighted the significant public concern over corruption, noting that many Ghanaians were eagerly awaiting the president’s actions to tackle the issue.
Ablakwa revealed that the committee had received 2,417 complaints in total—1,493 via a toll-free call and 924 through emails. Additionally, the committee reviewed 44 petitions submitted by civil society organizations (CSOs) and concerned citizens.
“Some of the cases, including 59 out of 230, were from when the NDC was in opposition. However, we chose to revisit and review them with greater scrutiny,” Ablakwa explained.
President Mahama, in receiving the report, praised the committee for its dedication to the task and their pro-bono service to the nation. He assured the public that the government would carefully examine the findings and take appropriate action.
“Any funds recovered from this operation will be reinvested into national development. Ghana will no longer tolerate corruption,” the president affirmed.
