The West Mamprusi Municipal Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has initiated a community sensitization campaign to promote peaceful coexistence and national unity for sustainable development.
The campaign seeks to encourage residents to move beyond any political tensions or conflicts that emerged during last year’s general elections and focus on working together for the progress of the nation.
The NCCE team visited several communities, including Wungu, Bulbia, Zua, Yama, Diibsi, Kpasenkpe, Sareba, Duu Silinga, Wulugu, and the Walewale Market, engaging residents through face-to-face discussions and public announcements.
During these engagements, West Mamprusi Municipal NCCE Director, Thomas Imoro Issahaku, urged community members to prioritize unity and reconciliation. He emphasized the importance of forgiveness and collaboration, stating, “When Ghana develops, everyone benefits. Similarly, if the country struggles, we all feel the consequences.”
He also called on the winning political party to ensure inclusive governance, advocating for the involvement of all community members in developmental projects regardless of political affiliations.
Additionally, he warned against discrimination toward minority ethnic groups, stressing the need for mutual respect to maintain peace and prevent conflicts.
Other key speakers at the event included NCCE Chief Field Officers Salifu Zeinab and Mohammed Alhassan, alongside Madam Ubeidatu Abubakari, who all reinforced the message of national unity and peaceful coexistence.
