The Effutu Traditional Council has strongly denounced criticisms leveled against the Member of Parliament and Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, regarding his acquisition of land from the Paramountcy for development.

Speaking at the launch of the 2025 Aboakyer Festival, the Omanhene, Neenyi Ghartey VII, expressed deep disappointment over what he described as baseless and malicious attacks against Afenyo-Markin. He dismissed the allegations as unfounded and unjust.

Neenyi Ghartey VII questioned why Afenyo-Markin, a native of Effutu, should face opposition for securing land for development when individuals from other parts of the country and even foreign nationals have been granted land without interference from the Effutu Paramountcy.

He reiterated that the council has consistently championed the development of Winneba, particularly in the areas of hospitality, real estate, and infrastructure, to create employment and stimulate economic growth.

Despite the council’s dedication to advancing the Effutu State, Neenyi Ghartey VII lamented that their progress has often been obstructed by individuals who resist development efforts.

The Effutu Traditional Council remains unwavering in its commitment to initiatives that enhance local livelihoods and drive economic progress in the region.
