Manchester United have officially signed Lecce left-back Patrick Dorgu in a deal valued at £30 million, making him Ruben Amorim’s first major acquisition as manager.

The 20-year-old defender joins on a contract running until 2030, with an option for an additional year. The transfer fee consists of an initial £25.2 million, with a further £4.2 million in potential add-ons. Dorgu completed his medical at Carrington on Wednesday after flying into Manchester to finalize the move.

Earlier this week, United also secured the signing of 18-year-old defender Ayden Heaven from Arsenal, further strengthening their defensive options.

As previously reported by Sky Sports News, a left wing-back was identified as a key priority for United this transfer window, and Dorgu’s arrival aligns with that plan.

Since joining Lecce from Danish side Nordsjaelland in 2022, Dorgu has made 53 appearances in Serie A and earned four caps for Denmark.

Expressing his excitement about the move, Dorgu said: “I am incredibly proud to become a Manchester United player; this is a very special moment for me and my family.

“I can’t wait to work under Ruben Amorim. His vision for the team and the club’s future is incredibly exciting. There is a clear development plan for me, and I believe United is the ideal place to achieve my ambitions and reach my full potential.”
